Information

Retro running is another term for running backwards.

Every two years Retro Runners from around the globe gather to compete running backwards across all the traditional athletic distances.

Great Britain will be hosting the 8th IRR World Championships for the first time in July 2020 after the success of the 7th event staged at Bologna, Italy in 2018.

This year’s competition is open to young and old alike with a junior class for 10 to 15 year olds as well as veteran and super veteran categories for over 40 and 55 years respectively.

Taking place between the 23rd and 26th July 2020 at the Lee Valley Stadium in the North London borough of Enfield, the closest airport is Stanstead and the closest train stations are Ponders End and Edmonton Green.

There will be 2 days of track based competition ranging from 100m to 10km held at Lee Valley Stadium. On Sunday we will host a half marathon in nearby Albany Park.

Venue:
Lee Valley Athletics Centre, Meridian Way, Edmonton, London N9 0AR
